Freire Wilmington’s rigorous college-preparatory curriculum is designed to ensure that every Freire student graduates with the credits required for acceptance at any top college in the US.
This includes four years each of English, math, science, and social studies, as well as three years of language study. Our courses are designed to engage students deeply with their learning and bring to life connections between students’ classwork, their communities, and real-world issues.
All classes must be passed with a minimum of a 75%.
Students are also given the opportunity to take AP courses, including 2 in-class (AP Psychology & AP African American History) and AP Independent Study in partnership with Edmentum. Included courses in the Edmentum program are: AP English Literature, AP English Language, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP US History, and AP Macroeconomics. We assess our AP offerings annually to ensure we are meeting student demand.
We also offer dual enrollment courses through partnerships with the University of Delaware (EntreX and LeadX) and DelTech (Spanish I). Curriculum offerings subject to change based on student interest and teacher availability.
