Learning at Freire Wilmington isn’t confined to the classroom—and it doesn’t stop when the school day ends. Field trips and after-school activities are an essential part of learning at Freire Schools.
Field Trips and College Visits
Field trips help Freire students connect in-class learning to real-life places and experiences while building community with their peers. Students have traveled as far as New York City, Washington D.C., and Baltimore, and have done everything from dissecting squid at the National Aquarium to learning about the history of U.S. immigration at Ellis Island.
Freire students also visit different college campuses each year so that by the time they apply to college, they have a strong idea of the many options available to them.
